#Revenge Fashion

RevengeSeason4Episode1EmilyThorneDress1RevengeSeason4Episode1Fashion RevengeSeason4Episode1NolanOutfit RevengeSeason4Episode1EmilyThorneDressRevengeSeason4Episode1EmilyThorneDressRevenge aired the premiere of their fourth season tonight and the fashion was amazing.

My obsession with Revenge began when I came across the first three seasons on Netflix and binged watched them to completion. Emily (nonchalantly wearing a gorgeous, floral silhouette) and Nolan (casually being carried in on a throne) are by far my favorite characters, and may have the best fashion choices. The outfits on set have always captured my eye, but tonights episode made me even more aware of the perfected styles of each character.

To another wonderful season of Revenge! I can hardly wait until next week. xx

Adams Falls

Have you ever had a personal connection with nature? An overpowering, almost spiritual, connection? I’ve always loved nature, but today was the first time I felt an overwhelming connection to the natural state of life.

Adams Falls, hidden away in Rocky Mountain National Park, transformed me, if only for a moment. The water cascading down over rocks and enormous trees that had fallen from time. The known fact that the water was so much more powerful than you. It was the first time I had ever seen a waterfall.

The sound overpowered everything around me and all I could hear was peace; all I could see was beauty. Natural beauty, beauty untouched by human hands. The type of beauty that is forgotten in this day of technology- the day of filters, the day of photoshop, the day of altering everything around us. This waterfall, this piece of Earth, was beautiful, all by itself, it need not compete with the trees or foliage around it, merely complement it.

The metaphor, of course, that caused that one tear to brim my eye, was that of letting go and surrendering. Surrendering all of your vices, all of your pain, and letting them flow with the water, freeing you.

A place to say goodbye.

It would go against everything I spoke of to alter the photographs below, which is why I have not. Here is Adams Falls, in all of it’s glorious beauty.

Colorado: the beginning

After a 12 hour car ride, my family (minus my older brother!), James and I have finally arrived to Colorado for a nine day vacation in the wilderness. Well, mostly wilderness. Tomorrow we will travel to a log cabin near Rocky Mountain National Park. I cannot wait to spend the days immersed in nature. Hiking up mountains, breathing in the fresh air, drinking coffee on the porch overlooking the trees transforming into their fall selves as I transform into one with the leaves. My metaphors make no sense at this hour, for I am quite tired.

Expect many pictures xx

Saveurs 209: A quick trip to France

Located on Broadway rests Saveurs 209, a relatively new French restaurant that may be my new favorite lunch spot. Walking into Saveurs 209, I already fell in lust. The decor was modern, but the small tables against the wall gave it a French touch. I’ve never been to France, but I’ve always imagined it with small tables for meals that consist of bread and pasta.

I had to reread the lunch menu a few times because the first line is in French, and the second line is English. As soon as I came across club sandwich with crab meat, I immediately ordered it. Expecting a stereotypical American sub sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised when the dish (pictured above) was placed in front of me. The sandwich was amazing! So much flavor, but it was so light, so beautiful. However, while the club, crab sandwich was divine, the tartine topped with toasted goat cheese and pecan and quince jam was life changing. It was so good. I could eat them all day. If you go, please get the tartine!

Circa 2011, Julien Fournié Haute Couture collection had some designs that were bloody amazing. I’m not a fan of blood, yet these designs are gorgeous and unlike anything I have come across. Many works of art that contain blood come across as vulgar, to the point where you can’t look at it for too long. Yet this outfit, as well as the accompanying make up, has so much detail, and the expression the model holds while she’s wearing the dress goes perfectly with everything the designer/artist was trying to portray. Lana Del Rey also goes very well this this dress. I believe a movie script could be made just based of this Julien Fournié gown and Lana Del Rey’s voice.

Halloween has already begun in my world, which includes fashion. xx

Florals for spring

“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.”

Miranda Priestly, florals for spring are groundbreaking, when they’re stitched on the designs of Michael Kors. All of the designs from his spring collection were delicate, beautifully made, and most importantly, realistic.

Dresses, skirts, blouses, all within the reach of the average human. Femininity and masculinity combined and created outfits that perfectly balanced day and night, while other outfits were purely feminine, embracing the purest of colors and the petals of flowers. Poetic. Poetic is a fine word to describe the Spring 2015 collection from the ever inspiring, Michael, Michael Kors. xx
