My mom and I have a tradition, a wonderful tradition, of watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show together. This year was gorgeous, of course. So many fresh faces and all of my favorites walking the runway in lingerie I wish they sold in stores.
The gold wings at the beginning were breathtaking. My favorite were Karlie Kloss’s because they were closed, as if she were about to take flight. A metaphor perhaps? I wasn’t a huge fan of the Exotic Traveler portion of the show, but the stage was amazing. By far, the 2014 Fashion Show has had the best set. I was beginning to become slightly disappointed after the Pink walk, but when everyone came out in black, lace, ultra-sexy outfits, it made up for it all. Lily Aldridge’s black feathered wings! Amazing.
Oh, my favorite part had to be watching Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima walk in the $2 million bras almost caused a tear to fall. They’ve been modeling together since they were 15! And now they’re walking together as two of the most influential Victoria Secret models ever.
I’ve never been a fan of Taylor Swift, but thanks to VS, she may have gained another fan.
I first came across the amazing, unique brand For Love and Lemons when I was casually browsing through Instagram and saw an image of their lingerie. It was unlike anything I have ever seen and I it didn’t take much for me to become an admirer of For Love and Lemons. I remember reading about the history of the company and it was about two best friends who joined together to create this amazing retail store. I was inspired and even more intrigued with this authentic brand.
I’m a big believer that pajamas shouldn’t be composed of oversized branded t-shirts and printed, cotton pants, or printed, cotton shorts for that matter. Sometimes comfortable pajamas happen, after long days when you’re just too tired to give your night attire a second thought, but I view sleeping time as just another chance to dress it up. Make it fancy. Make yourself feel sexy. For Love and Lemons, I feel you on this!
If you’ve never seen any of For Love and Lemon’s pieces, get ready for your mind to be transported to another fashion dimension where lace, chicness and romanticism all come in one, sometimes tiny, package.
On Thursday, as I promised myself, I went to the anniversary sale at Nordstrom! Every department had gorgeous curtains falling from the ceiling, designating the area where the sale items resided. I had never been to an anniversary sale before, and it was quite exciting. When I arrived at the lingerie department I went straight to my favorite bra that I had dreamt about every night when I worked there, and even after I had left. It was the Chantelle “Merci” bra, pictured above. Ahhh, it’s so gorgeous and fits you perfectly. Perhaps in your closet you may have some bras that you feel are a great fit, but this bra, this bra just holds you in all the right places, and, it’s lace all over. It’s a cut and sewn bra, and it has three sections in the cup that give you a lift, without the assistance of padding. I urge you to buy a bra that has no soft cup at all! It’s a new definition of sexy.
How much was it? Well, it wasn’t on sale for anniversary, but I bought it anyway because clearly, it made an impression on me. For $78, I hang the “Merci” up it it’s own section in my closet.
